  1. By completing the Direct Deposit enrollment form, an employee authorizes Direct Deposit payments into one of the person's banking accounts.
  2. You will perform a test run by sending the employee's bank account information to the financial institution via the ACH Network.
  3. In the case of payroll payments, you processes the next pay period's payroll, prepares an ACH file and delivers it to the employee's financial institution one or two days prior to the effective date. This is done in a pre-arranged format, usually by electronic transmission.
  4. The employee's financial institution processes the information and on payday posts the paycheck to the employee's account.
  5. You will usually give the employee a paper record of the pay-stub. The employee's financial institution reports the deposit transaction on the employee's monthly statement.
